Accounting Dashboard
Bookkeeping and statutory compliance software, run by HVK & Associates, Chartered Accountants, for its own clients.
What this application does
Accounting Dashboard is private, in-house software. The practice uses it to keep the books and the statutory records of the businesses it acts for, in one place instead of a dozen spreadsheets and mail folders. It is not a public service and is not sold or offered to anyone outside the practice.
- Books. Sales, purchase, bank and journal entries are imported from the files a client sends — whatever billing software or bank they use — and reconciled.
- Tally. Ledgers, stock items and vouchers are read from and written to the practice's Tally installation, so the dashboard and Tally agree to the paisa.
- GST and TDS. Returns, challans, notices and their due dates are tracked per client and per period, so nothing is filed late.
- Document collection. Clients upload bank statements, invoices and registration papers; each document is filed automatically against the right client, category and financial year.
- Reports. Trial balance, profit & loss, balance sheet, ageing and outstanding statements for any client and any period.
How Google account data is used
Compliance documents reach a practice like this one by email — GST notices, TDS statements,
bank statements a client forwards. So staff may connect the practice's own Gmail mailbox to the
application. When they do, it asks Google for a single permission,
gmail.readonly, and uses it only to find those documents and file them against the
right client and period.
Who uses it
Staff of the practice, and the practice's business clients, each with their own login. A client sees only their own companies. There is no public sign-up: logins are created by the practice.
Where it runs
On the practice's own computer, reached over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No part of it runs on a third party's servers, and no other organisation hosts or operates it.
